ALASKA BY LAND MAY 21-26, 2017
Sponsored by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and Celebrity Cruise Lines
Linda and Karen had the opportunity of meeting up with 60 Travel Agents from all over the country to experience Alaska by land.
This trip was to further our knowledge of what there is to see and experience before or after an Alaskan Cruise.
We stayed in five unique cities in six days! We started out in Fairbanks AK, visited Denali National Park then traveled to Talkeetna by the Alaska Railroad Dome Car which was a fabulous experience with fine dining and magnificent views. Our next journey took us to Seward and our final leg was visiting Anchorage.
Our experience included playing with the Husky puppies of the famous Iditarod Dog Run that takes place every March. These amazing dogs (and men and women) trek 1,100 miles for anywhere from 8-11 days to reach for the prize $75,000.
We had a wonderful Salmon Bake Bar-B-que; took part in panning for gold and visited part of the Alaskan Pipeline which is 800 miles long.
Our trip included Alyeska Ski Resort, the only ski resort built in the early 80s in Alaska, surprisingly so!
