What's New in Walt Disney World
Visiting Disney World is always an adventure; no matter how many times youve been! Disney is a favorite for Starship Travel. It is impossible to see it all in one trip, and Disney is constantly changing and expanding. Here's what is to come in 2019:
A brand-new Star Wars: Galaxy s Edge land will be opening August 29th, 2019. This is highly anticipated, as it will be the largest land in Disney World at 14 acres. There will be two new attractions, and all-electric animatronics called A1000s. The first ride will open August 29th while the other will come in late 2019. Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run will be a highly interactive ride on the fastest ship in the galaxy. Guests act as the flight crew, and become fully immersed in this rollercoaster. The second ride will come in late 2019 and will be called Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Guests will be taken hostage, and fight a battle between the First Order and the Resistance, and Kylo Ren himself.
Universal's Islands of Adventure is also getting a new ride called Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure as a part of the Harry Potter world. Guests will see countless magical creatures and become fully immersed in the Wizarding World. The ride experience will differ depending on whether guests choose the sidecar or the motorbike. This ride will open June 13, 2019.
Disney World is attempting to go green in 2019 with new environmentally-friendly, cornmeal fireworks in all their amazing light displays. These fireworks are biodegradable unlike their previous method of cardboard fireworks.
In 2019, Skyliner gondolas will connect Disneys Art of Animation Resort, Pop Century Resort, Caribbean Beach resort and proposed Riviera Resort to Disneys Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot. This new method of transportation will be a fun and aesthetic experience for guests. The cabins feature stunning graphics from classic Disney movies.
Coronado Springs Resort is getting an expansion with the brand-new Gran Destino Tower opening July 9, 2019. The 15-story tower will add 545 guest rooms, with 50 suites and a two-story lobby. This will be the main entrance point for hotel resort guests. Two new restaurants will also be added to the resort. A themed table-service restaurant will sit atop the tower and offer views of the resort. Villa del Lago, is also planned for an island in the middle of the resort's 14-acre lake.
In December of 2019, Disney Riviera Resort will be added as Disney Vacation Club's 15th property. This European-influenced resort will offer about 300 family-friendly vacation homes and one-and two-bedroom villas and grand villas that sleep up to 12 guests. It's accepting reservations now and will offer transportation by the Disney Skyliner. There will be a table-service restaurant called Topolino's Terrace that will feature views of nighttime shows at Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Topolino is the Italian name for Mickey Mouse.
